CompTIA Introduces AI Essentials and Expansion Series for Campus Technology

CompTIA has recently introduced two new certification programs to help individuals improve their AI skills. The Essentials series, set to be launched in July 2024, will focus on developing competencies in various tech career areas and roles related to AI. This program will cover topics such as the landscape of AI, available tools, challenges in AI, benefits of AI for creativity and work enhancement, and future implications.

On the other hand, the Expansion series is designed for individuals who already have CompTIA Plus (+) or Pro certification in areas like security engineering, penetration testing, systems operations (SysOps), data analysis, tech support, prompt engineering, and systems operations. This program will focus on expanding skillsets for fully leveraging AI in these roles.

In the future, CompTIA plans to release additional expansion releases that will target skillsets for fully utilizing AI in tech support roles and systems operations. Additionally, the company plans to launch programs focusing on cyber engineering, analytics
