There are over 2.5 million registered vehicles in Croatia

In 2023, the number of registered road vehicles in Croatia increased by 4 percent to 2,554,524 from the previous year. This was a significant growth for the country’s transportation industry. Among these vehicles, passenger cars saw a 3.8 percent increase from the previous year with a total of 1,910,131 registrations. The number of first-time registrations for motorcycles increased by 42.3 percent to a total of 101,515 units.

The agricultural industry in Croatia also saw an increase in first-time registrations for tractors with an additional 7,483 new registrations bringing the total number of tractors on Croatian roads to 148,080 units. However, there was a decrease in first bus registrations by 2.5 percent to a total of 5,799 units.

In terms of road traffic accidents with casualties, there were an increase of 6.3 percent to a total of 10,633 incidents resulting in 274 deaths and an increase of 6.6 percent compared to the previous year with a total of 14,204 injuries. This highlights the need for increased safety measures on Croatian roads.

Overall, the data from the State Institute of Statistics shows that there was significant growth in the transportation industry in Croatia in 2023. With this growth comes the responsibility to ensure safety on our roads and continue working towards reducing road traffic accidents with casualties.
