Denny Hamlin emerges victorious at Dover Cup race: Who came out on top and who fell short?

At the Dover race, there were both winners and losers. Denny Hamlin emerged victorious, passing Kyle Larson in the final stretch and leading the final 72 laps. Hamlin has been on a roll lately, winning three out of the last seven races and leading in all 11 races this season.

Meanwhile, Kyle Larson finished second and continues to lead the points standings. Kyle Busch came in fourth place, marking his best result since Atlanta and moving back into a playoff spot. Noah Gragson and Daniel Hemric both finished in the top 10 at Dover, making it two straight top 10 finishes for both drivers. Corey Heim also made his Cup debut at Dover, finishing 25th.

However, not everyone was so fortunate. Bubba Wallace had another disappointing race at Dover, finishing 32nd and falling out of a playoff spot. Christopher Bell was involved in a crash with Wallace and Smith, finishing 34th. Ryan Preece finished last in the race due to a burning issue in his car, saying it was “completely unnecessary”.

Despite these setbacks, Hamlin is now tied for 12th on the all-time Cup wins list as he continues to seek his first series title. With only a few races left in the season, it’s anyone’s championship to take.
