Improving STEM Education Through Technological Upgrades at Tulsa Charter School

Dove Science Academy, a Tulsa charter school, is currently undergoing a major technological upgrade to its internet capabilities. As part of this update, the school will become the first Pre-K through 12th grade institution in the United States to implement the new WiFi standard known as “WIFI-7.” This change comes as Dove Schools prepare to merge their high school campus next year. With nearly 1,000 students using Chromebooks on campus, having a reliable and high-bandwidth network is essential.

The introduction of Wi-Fi 7 technology will offer students faster upload and download speeds, as well as improved connectivity both indoors and outdoors. According to John Franklin, Dove Science Academy is committed to advancing STEM education by ensuring students have access to the latest technology. By future-proofing their infrastructure, they aim to prepare students for the demands of the workforce, particularly in fields like computer science and coding.

John Franklin also stated that this investment in technology reflects Dove Science Academy’s dedication to providing their students with the tools and resources necessary to succeed in an increasingly digital world. The installation of Wi-Fi 7 at the campus is expected to be completed and fully operational by the 2024-2025 school year.
