French President Emmanuel Macron made a charitable contribution by playing in a football match for 90 minutes alongside former football stars Didier Drogba, Didier Deschamps, and Eden Hazard. The event was organized to raise funds for children in hospitals, with Macron scoring a penalty against an immobile goalkeeper, helping his team, the presidential XI, defeat the healthcare professionals from Plaisir coached by Arsene Wenger.
Macron has participated in charity football matches before. In 2021, he scored a penalty in a similar event. The match on Wednesday raised €57,500 for a hospital foundation chaired by Brigitte Macron’s wife. Organized by the Varieties Club of France (VCF), the game was successful in raising funds for good causes and featured star names like former France coach Laurent Blanc.
The VCF has been organizing benefit matches since its inception in 1971 and attracts renowned players to participate. Macron wore number three on his jersey and played alongside Christian Karembeu during the game. Brigitte Macron’s hospital foundation focuses on raising funds for children and teenagers undergoing hospital treatment. The charity match was an excellent effort to support children and adolescents in hospitals and improve their daily lives.
