Free Suicide Prevention Courses Offered by Chicago Area Healthcare System

A local healthcare system, Franciscan Health, is offering free suicide prevention courses in the Chicago area. The courses are based on a curriculum developed by the QPR Institute and will teach participants how to recognize warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help.

Several upcoming courses are available at different locations. Franciscan Health Michigan City is hosting a course on April 30th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Central time. Franciscan Health Olympia Fields is hosting a course on May 20th from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Central time, with registration available through Community Health Improvement Director Danielle Crowder at Danielle.Crowder@franciscanalliance.org .
