‘UK HealthCare to Host ‘Be Healthy Bash’ Event in Lexington’

The Be Healthy Bash, hosted by UK HealthCare on June 8th at the Fayette County Extension Office in Lexington, is a community event focused on nutrition, fitness, and emotional wellness. From 10 am to 1 pm, attendees can participate in health screenings, access resources, enjoy free food and drinks, participate in cooking demonstrations and taste testing, engage in physical activities and games, and more.

This event was envisioned by the Barnstable Brown Diabetes Center to promote healthy eating and active living. It has since expanded to include various health and wellness services aimed at helping individuals achieve a healthy lifestyle regardless of their background. The Be Healthy Bash is presented by UK HealthCare and the University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service with support from organizations such as the UK Barnstable Brown Diabetes Center, UK HealthCare’s Healthy Kentucky Initiative, Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, and the Fayette County Extension Office.

The event is open to the public and offers participation for free. Attendees can receive Farmers’ Market vegetable vouchers upon signing up at the registration table. For more information or a list of tabling partners visit the event’s website.
