At the 2024 Faculty and Staff Awards Ceremony, faculty and staff members were recognized for their outstanding achievements over the past year. A total of 20 individuals from various departments within the College of Public Health (GCH, HAP, NUTR, SW, Nursing), College-wide staff, and those who received honors at the university level were honored on April 19. The ceremony was commenced by Dean Melissa Perry who applauded all faculty and staff for their exceptional work in enhancing the College of Public Health.
The awards were distributed by Lisa Joyner, Executive Director of Finance and Administration, and Cathy Tompkins, Associate Dean for Faculty and Staff Affairs. Each winner was personally congratulated by the deans and recognized for their achievements in their respective categories. The nominations were submitted by colleagues who reviewed them before selecting the official nominees. An ad hoc committee comprised of last year’s winners determined the final award recipients.
Individuals from all departments within the College of Public Health were acknowledged during the ceremony. Awards were given to individuals who have excelled in teaching, research, leadership, and shown a strong commitment to advancing the College’s missions and values. These achievements have contributed significantly to the continuous improvement and evolution of College programs which is evident in the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings.
