As a 28-year-old athlete, Monte Harrison is embarking on a new chapter by pursuing college football. He has left his professional baseball career behind to walk-on to the Arkansas Razorbacks football team, making him one of the oldest college football players. Harrison was once a four-star recruit and committed to playing football at Nebraska before being drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the MLB Draft.
During his time in the MLB, Harrison played for the Milwaukee Brewers and Miami Marlins, experiencing both minor league and major league success. He made his major league debut in 2020 and played for the Los Angeles Angels before rejoining the Brewers on a minor league contract. However, he always had a passion for football and is excited to join the Arkansas Razorbacks as a receiver.
Harrison’s decision to join the Arkansas Razorbacks has garnered attention, with other schools like Nebraska and Tennessee expressing interest in recruiting him. With his talent and determination, he is set to make his mark in the college football world at the age of 29 when the Razorbacks open their season on August 29 against Arkansas Pine-Bluff.
