The former Chapel Hill Mall, situated in Akron between Brittain Road, Buchholzer Boulevard, and Howe and Independence avenues, has undergone a significant transformation. The mall closed in 2021, but despite the changes, there are still opportunities for businesses to lease space in the park.
The size of the former mall was a massive 900,000 square feet, but after the transformation, the complex owned by ICP at 2000 Brittain Road now spans 715,000 square feet on 60 acres of land. In addition, Storage of America owns a 169,000 square foot building at the former Macy’s location on 8 acres of land. The remaining available space is approximately 40,826 square feet.
Four new businesses have already been established in the complex since its closure in 2021. It is worth noting that Storage of America had already purchased the former Macy’s building in 2019 before it closed down. Overall, the former Chapel Hill Mall has seen a promising revitalization as it transitions into a thriving business park under new ownership.
