Three Silver Bluff athletes commit to college athletic programs | Local Sports

Bing, a multi-sport athlete at Silver Bluff, has always been dedicated to her physical fitness and academic goals. She excels in girls’ basketball, cheerleading, track and field, and more. Bing values the importance of working towards her dreams both inside and outside the classroom. As she prepares for college, she will pursue a degree in biology at Livingstone College.

Bing credits her athletic family for instilling her love of sports and physical activity. She cherishes the supportive community at Silver Bluff and is excited to recreate it at Livingstone College, an HBCU that aligns with her values and interests. Coach Shauna Barfield praised Bing’s selflessness as an athlete, noting her dedication to the relay team despite having no prior experience. Bing’s decision to focus on team events rather than individual competitions helped her team place second at the state championship.

Meanwhile, Walker fulfilled a lifelong dream by signing with Limestone College to continue his track and field career. He spoke about the sacrifices he made and the dedication he put into his training to achieve his goal. Walker reflected on the discipline required to forgo social events and prioritize his athletic pursuits, which ultimately led him to the next level of competition.
