Ashland Motorcyclist Breaks World Record, with Unconventional Influence from a Guitarist

Nolen Sellwood’s journey began in the Twin Cities suburbs where he attended school and learned to play guitar from his high school art teacher. Intrigued by the music of Nick Drake, an English folk artist who passed away too soon at the age of 26 in 1974, Sellwood developed a unique style that he now showcases as a student at the University of Minnesota Duluth. Bridget McCutchen, on the other hand, has always had a spirit of discovery starting from her childhood on a family farm near Ashland where she was homeschooled. Despite never straying far from home, last fall she made history by becoming the youngest person to circumnavigate the globe on a motorcycle. Her incredible journey is awaiting certification by the Guinness Book of World Records and she shares all the details with host Robin Washington on “Simply Superior”. The episode credits Robin Washington as the host of “Simply Superior” with Bridget McCutchen and Nolen Sellwood as guests.
