Escaped zebra found after a daring getaway

A zebra that escaped from a vehicle on a highway in Washington state in late April was finally recaptured after almost a week, according to local emergency services. The transport carrying four zebras was traveling from Winlock, Washington, to Anaconda, Montana, on April 28 when the driver stopped along the highway to troubleshoot a problem with his trailer. When she checked everything again, the four animals took off at lightning speed.

Three of the four zebras were captured again within the next few hours and were able to continue their journey aboard the transport. However, the fourth zebra, named Shug, headed into the wilderness and hid there for days. The animal was occasionally spotted by residents and hikers, but attempts to capture it were always unsuccessful.
