The Georgia Bulldogs scored a stunning 10-1 victory over Kennesaw State, with nine runs coming in the first two innings. After a game that resulted in only four runs and five hits, the Bulldogs nearly doubled those totals with 11 hits and 10 runs in this matchup.
Madison Kearney started the scoring with a two-run home run in the first inning. Sydney Chambley and Sara Mosley also hit home runs in the game. Despite a fielder error that allowed Kennesaw State to score in the first inning, Georgia’s pitching staff performed exceptionally well. Starter Shelby Walters earned the win after pitching for two innings, allowing three hits and striking out two batters.
The Bulldogs utilized four pitchers in total, who only allowed four hits and three walks while striking out five batters. The team showcased a deep roster with 15 different players seeing playing time compared to only eight players for Kennesaw State.
Following a successful away stretch, Georgia will return home to face No. 20 Arkansas on Saturday, March 30th at noon during their upcoming SEC series.
