Lubbock Business News: Hairbreak Hotel, Dawna Gillespie, and more featured

In Lubbock, there was some exciting news in the business world this week. On Monday, a vehicle crashed through the wall of Golden Corral, but the restaurant officials reassured customers that they would be reopening by the end of the week.

In addition to this incident, a new men’s hair salon with a rock ‘n’ roll vibe is set to open soon. Hairbreak Hotel, located at 2614 130th St., Unit 3, draws inspiration from Elvis Presley. The owner, Tristan Chancey, shared that his grandmother’s love for Elvis was the motivation behind naming the salon after the iconic song “Heartbreak Hotel.”

The salon will also offer an exclusive line of beard oil for customers. Next week, we will be featuring Ransom Canyon metalsmith Dawna Gillespie in an article on Monday. Gillespie specializes in creating jewelry and ornamental art using brass and copper. She shared insights on the science behind her craft, her choice of medium, and how a Texas Tech course changed her path.

Don’t miss out on this enlightening article next week! Additionally, our monthly business roundup is scheduled for Wednesday to update readers on new openings, closures and announcements in the area. Thank you for your continued support of A-J!
