As Hankook prepares to take on the challenge of the World Rally Championship, it is focusing on developing tires that will perform well in a variety of conditions. The Seoul-based company has decided to ditch the bells and whistles and concentrate on making tires that meet the needs of teams running on all surfaces.
Hankook has already signed off on the tire for next year’s Sweden rally, and Croatia and Portugal will provide valuable mileage for asphalt and gravel tires, respectively. Manfred Sandbichler, Hankook’s motorsport director for Europe, understands the importance of winning over competitors with high-quality tires. He mentioned that they are testing and are on track to meet their targets.
Sandbichler was unwilling to provide specific details about what Hankook has planned, but he emphasized that performance and reliability are key factors in their approach to the World Rally Championship. By prioritizing these qualities, Hankook aims to establish itself as a leading tire supplier in the championship.
