Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAG) recently welcomed new shareholders after LPBank Securities and affiliated individuals acquired 89.6 million shares of the company, increasing their ownership to 8.47% of its charter capital. The transaction was reported on April 25 to the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HoSE).
The new shareholders now hold a significant amount of HAG shares, with LPBank Securities owning 50 million shares and individuals related to the company holding the remaining shares, including Mr. Le Minh Tam with 28 million shares, Mr. Nguyen Duc Binh with 1.3 million shares, Ms. Tran Thi Thu Huong with 5.65 million shares, and Ms. Pham Le Thi Hong Hoa with 4.68 million shares.
In addition to acquiring new shares, LPBank Securities and the group of shareholders also sold 52 million shares to Thaigroup Joint Stock Company in a recent private placement, representing 4.92% of the company’s charter capital. The proceeds from this sale will be used by Bau Duc Company to repurchase bonds issued by HAG in 2012 and restructure debt for subsidiaries.
Meanwhile, HAG announced the resignation of two board members and reported a first-quarter after-tax profit of 226 billion VND as of May 7th – despite still holding an accumulated loss of 1,452.4 billion VND which is equivalent to about 15.7% of its current charter capital . On the market front , HAG’s stock has reached over VND13,100 per share as May7th . Amidst these changes in ownership and financial performance ,HAG continues to navigate through market fluctuations.
It is worth noting that in recent years there have been some changes in ownership structure at HAG due to various factors such as mergers and acquisitions ,restructuring debt or even takeover attempts . These changes have led to fluctuations in the stock price , but it remains clear that HAG is a significant player in Vietnam’s real estate industry with a long history and potential for growth .
