Aditi Swami, the current under-18 and senior World Archery Champion, expressed her joy at the success of their shooting process. She hopes that the Indian men and women can replicate the victory they achieved at the World Cup in Paris last year, where they both won team gold medals. The Indian team lineup includes Swami, Asian Games Champion Jyothi Surekha Vennam, and Parneet Kaur. However, they are currently without their coach, Sergio Pagni, who was key to their successes last season and is attending a camp in India.
Marcella Tonioli from the Italian team acknowledged that there were some errors made during the match against Kazakhstan in the semifinal shoot-off after the scores were tied at 227 points. The 10th seeded Dutch men also won a tiebreak against France to secure their spot in the final, with Mike Schloesser, Sil Pater, and Stef Willems shooting three perfect X-ring 10s.
Schloesser expressed surprise at the result considering they entered the bracket as underdogs. The competition continues this afternoon with recurve qualifying. The Indian women will be competing against Italy for gold medal in final.
