IOCL Chooses Lummus’ Cumene Technology for their Operations

IndianOil Corp. Ltd. (IOCL) has selected Lummus Technology’s cumene technology for a new unit in Paradip, India as part of their petrochemical and polymers expansion project at their complex. Lummus was chosen due to the benefits offered by their technology, including lower energy costs, operational efficiency, and exceptional product yield.

Lummus’ Chief Business Officer for Polymers and Petrochemicals, Romain Lemoine, expressed excitement about working with IndianOil on this project and continuing their long-term relationship. The scope of Lummus’ involvement includes the technology license for cumene, basic design engineering, proprietary catalyst, site services, advisory services, and training.

IndianOil has previously licensed multiple technologies from Lummus and has been partnering with them since 2007 in licensing cumene technologies. The cumene process uses a special zeolite catalyst and is recognized for its high cumene yield, purity of product, and long catalyst run length.

Lummus Technology focuses on developing sustainable solutions in various industries such as clean fuels, renewables, petrochemicals, and gas processing. They offer services such as catalysts, equipment, and digitalization to customers worldwide. For more information about Lummus Technology visit www.LummusTechnology.com
