Instagram has recently introduced new features that give users more control over their social media experience. One of these features is the hidden words option, which allows users to filter out unwanted content in their feed, search section, and other profiles. In addition to this feature, Instagram is testing the ability to mute notifications and connections to posts, as well as giving users control over who can mention them.
Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram, announced these new features on the platform. The hidden words function allows users to personalize their content by hiding specific words, phrases, and emojis. This feature extends to both the ‘Following’ and ‘For you’ feeds, as well as the Search section and responses in publications. Furthermore, users can customize their experience by entering specific words and phrases to restrict in the settings section.
The new hidden words option allows for additional customization beyond what is already provided by Instagram’s default filters for offensive or harmful content. Instagram is committed to continuously improving user experience and providing more control over what appears on the platform. As such, it will continue to test and introduce new features that give users greater control over their social media experience.
