Personal data leaks in Argentina lead to demands for increased state responsibility and discussions of current laws

In the last two weeks, Argentina has suffered a series of significant personal data leaks. The first incident occurred when a cybercriminal published over 115 thousand stolen photos from Renaper in early April. This was followed by another attacker releasing a database with 65 million records from Renaper two weeks later. Almost 6 million images of Argentine driver’s licenses were also stolen and distributed.
