Jack Hanna’s battle against Alzheimer’s disease has taken a heart-wrenching turn in the latest update on Friday. The beloved 77-year-old zookeeper and television personality was diagnosed with the disease in 2019, and his family revealed that he is showing typical symptoms of advanced Alzheimer’s.
Despite the challenges they are facing, Hanna’s family is determined to find joy in each day. They decided to share the update to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s disease, which affects nearly 7 million Americans and their loved ones.
In a previous interview in 2023, Hanna’s family shared that he only remembers his wife, Suzi, his dog, and occasionally his oldest daughter, Kathaleen. Suzi expressed that although Jack people may no longer be fully present, there are still glimpses of him that remind her of why they fell in love.
Taking care of her husband has become Suzi’s top priority. She mentioned that some days are extremely challenging but she is determined to support him through this difficult journey. Despite the struggles they face, the family continues to cherish every moment with Jack and finds solace in their love for each other.
