Jalen Brunson put on an incredible display in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference semifinals, leading the New York Knicks to a hard-fought 130-121 victory over the Indiana Pacers. Despite missing the entire second quarter while the Pacers surged ahead, Brunson came back strong in the second half and scored 24 of his 29 points to help the Knicks take a commanding 2-0 series lead.
Brunson’s performance was nothing short of spectacular, and he provided exactly what the Knicks needed to secure a crucial win. OG Anunoby also had an outstanding game, scoring a career playoff-high 28 points before leaving with a left hamstring injury in the third quarter.
Despite facing injuries that have sidelined key players, the Knicks received strong contributions from Brunson and his Villanova teammates Donte DiVincenzo and Josh Hart. DiVincenzo scored 28 points, while Hart contributed 19 points, 15 rebounds, and seven assists to help propel the Knicks to victory.
Tyrese Haliburton bounced back from a tough Game 1 with an impressive performance, posting 34 points, nine assists, and six rebounds for the Pacers. However, head coach Rick Carlisle was ejected from the game following two technical fouls.
As they prepare for Games 3 and 4 on Indianapolis soil, the Knicks will look to continue their momentum and secure a spot in the Eastern Conference finals for the first time since 2000. The Pacers will be looking for revenge after losing this close game at home but will have to do it without their star guard Victor Oladipo who is out due to injury.
