The World Games 2029 to be Held in Karlsruhe, Germany

The International World Games Association (IWGA) has confirmed that Karlsruhe, Germany will be hosting the 13th edition of The World Games in 2029. This makes Karlsruhe the first city to organize The World Games twice. The city previously hosted the event in 1989 and has also hosted other major international sporting events.

Karlsruhe was nominated by the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) to host the IWGA flagship event in the summer of 2029. Located in south-western Germany, near the French border and at the heart of Europe, this will mark 40 years since Karlsruhe organized The World Games in 1989.

The commitment of Germany to The World Games was emphasized by IWGA President José Perurena, who expressed gratitude for the excellent conditions provided for athletes in past events in Karlsruhe and Duisburg. Around 3,000 world-class athletes from over 100 countries and regions will be competing in about 35 sports during the 13th edition of The World Games.
