Lamborghini has unveiled the Urus SE at the Volkswagen Group Media Night on April 24, before its world public debut at the Auto China Beijing 2024 motor show. The new generation Urus, known as the Urus SE, is the first luxury super SUV to feature a PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) powertrain. It boasts a new design, optimized aerodynamics, cutting-edge onboard technologies, and a hybrid powertrain that delivers an impressive 800 CV output.
The Urus SE sets a new benchmark in the segment for comfort, performance, efficiency, emissions, and driving pleasure. In addition to the Urus SE, Lamborghini is also showcasing two other vehicles at the Auto China Beijing show – the Revuelto – the first super sports V12 hybrid HPEV (High Performance Electrified Vehicle), and Huracán Tecnica – a rear-wheel drive super sports car powered by a V10 engine.
Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, expressed his excitement about presenting these latest achievements at such an important event in the automotive industry. Winkelmann reflected on Lamborghini’s history in Beijing, mentioning that twelve years ago he presented the Urus concept car at the same event which led to the creation of a new segment of super sports SUVs. The Urus has since become one of Lamborghini’s most successful models and serves as their third pillar in their lineup. Winkelmann emphasized that with these latest innovations they are taking another significant step forward in their electrification plan called ‘Direzione Cor Tauri.’
