Waynesboro business rape suspect officially charged in assault of woman

A man from Petersburg, named Jamie Chacon, 44, is facing allegations of rape and forcible sodomy of a woman at a Waynesboro business where she worked last summer. Chacon is also listed as being from Waynesboro by Middle River Regional Jail.

The incident took place at the Eagle Game Room on West Main Street, which has since closed. Court records claim that the assault occurred on July 23 in a backroom of the business. Chacon was initially charged with rape in September and has been in jail ever since. Recently, he was indicted by the Waynesboro grand jury on two additional felony charges of forcible sodomy. He remains incarcerated at Middle River Regional Jail in Verona.
