CBS Sports introduces Matt Ryan as new addition to NFL studio show as veteran analysts Simms and Esiason exit.

Matt Ryan has recently announced his retirement from the NFL after 15 years in the league. CBS Sports has confirmed that Ryan will be joining their team as a studio analyst on “The NFL Today.” This news comes as longtime analysts Phil Simms and Boomer Esiason are set to leave the show.

Ryan, who previously worked as an NFL game analyst for CBS Sports, will now be a part of the studio crew alongside James Brown, Nate Burleson, Bill Cowher, and JJ Watt. CBS Sports president and CEO David Berson expressed his excitement at having Ryan on board, praising his talent and professionalism.

Simms, who joined CBS in 1998 and was initially a game analyst before moving to the studio in 2017, shared his gratitude for his 26-year run with CBS Sports on social media. Likewise, Esiason, who spent 22 years on “The NFL Today,” will be transitioning to continue his work on a New York sports talk radio show simulcast on CBS Sports Network.

Berson commended both Simms and Esiason for their dedication and contributions to CBS Sports, recognizing their impact on the network’s NFL coverage. Ryan brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to his new role as a studio analyst. He enjoyed successful careers with the Atlanta Falcons and Indianapolis Colts before announcing his retirement. With Ryan now part of the team, fans can expect a fresh perspective and insight on “The NFL Today” moving forward under Berson’s leadership.
