Maurice Demond Davis was found guilty of murder and felon in possession of a firearm after a Macon County jury deliberated for just 53 minutes. The verdict was handed down following an argument at a Tuskegee business that led to the shooting and death of MiKayce Parker.

Davis is set to be sentenced on May 9, and the prosecution is seeking to have him sentenced as a habitual offender due to his prior felonies. The decision comes after a trial that lasted only a few hours, with the jury taking less than an hour to reach its verdict.
