Regents Greenlight Mayo Clinic Health System’s Lease of Space in New Science Building

The University of Wisconsin System Board of Regents has approved a 30-year lease for Mayo Clinic Health System to occupy integrated research workspace in the new Science and Health Sciences Building at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. This partnership signifies a significant investment in the future of healthcare and research at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, and demonstrates the commitment to advancing scientific knowledge and providing cutting-edge educational opportunities for students in the region.

Construction on the state-of-the-art Science and Health Sciences Building is set to begin this summer. The 330,000-square-foot building will replace the outdated Phillips Hall and provide space for multiple academic programs including biology, chemistry and biochemistry, computer science, geography and anthropology, geology and environmental science, public health and environmental studies, neuroscience, materials science and biomedical engineering, physics and astronomy, and nursing.

Mayo Clinic Health System will have space on all five floors of the building that will be integrated with UW-Eau Claire faculty and student spaces. The collaboration between Mayo Clinic Health System and UW-Eau Claire in the new research workspace is expected to enhance research and educational opportunities for students and faculty.
