This week, leaders from McLeod Health’s Coastal Region and Workforce Development teams gathered with leaders from Horry Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) for a check presentation at the Grand Strand Campus. McLeod Health pledged $375,000 to support the new Nursing & Health Sciences Institute at HGTC. This partnership aims to develop a well-prepared healthcare workforce and enhance the overall health of the community.
The collaboration between McLeod Health and HGTC is focused on preparing students for success in the healthcare field and ultimately improving the health and well-being of the community. By supporting nursing and allied health programs at HGTC, McLeod Health is not only ensuring high-quality graduates but also contributing to the vitality of the community. Monica Vehige, CEO of McLeod Loris Seacoast, emphasized the importance of investing in these programs.
The goals of the HGTC Nursing & Health Sciences Institute include creating a world-class simulation learning environment, increasing nursing enrollment, providing clinical rotation opportunities, and attracting top-tier healthcare faculty. The institute aims to provide students with hands-on experience and real-world applications of nursing and allied health concepts, which will prepare them for successful careers in these fields.
The donation from McLeod Health will help HGTC achieve its goals and create a supportive environment for future healthcare professionals. By investing in nursing and allied health programs, McLeod Health is not only enhancing its own workforce but also contributing to the overall health of the community by developing a well-prepared healthcare workforce that can provide high-quality care to patients.
