This year’s World Beer Cup was held in Las Vegas and saw many breweries from around the world showcase their talent and creativity. Among the winners from Minnesota were Big Lake’s Lupelin Brewing, which took home a silver medal for its Dortmunder beer. The beer was praised as a nearly perfect example of a German-style Oktoberfest lager.
Excelsior also received a silver medal for their fruit beer, while BeerClub of Mora and Pryes Brewing of Minneapolis won bronze medals. These awards highlight the exceptional quality of craft beer produced in Minnesota.
The competition, often referred to as the Olympics of beer, had over 9,000 entries in 110 categories. Winning a medal at the World Beer Cup is a highly prestigious achievement in the brewing industry.
Executive Director of the Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild, Jess Talley, commented on the success of Minnesota breweries at the World Beer Cup, stating that it reinforces the fact that some of the best beer in the world is being made by local brewers in communities across the state. The awards not only showcase the exceptional quality of craft beer produced in Minnesota but also highlight the creativity and talent of local brewers.
