We are excited to announce a Comparative & Multi-Method Approaches workshop at the 2024 APSA Annual Meeting in Philadelphia, PA on Wednesday, September 4. Co-Leaders will support early career researchers in exploring the application of mixed methods to political economy questions.
In this unique workshop, participants will learn how to utilize multiple methodologies to investigate key political economy issues such as redistribution, democratization, economic policy, unionization, and social policy. The goal is to provide a comprehensive understanding of variation in democratic policy and politics across different countries.
We encourage participants from all fields within political economy and any geographic focus to apply. While individual chapters may focus on a single method, participants should be prepared to discuss how their work fits into their broader dissertation. This workshop is part of APSA’s annual sponsorship of in-person and virtual dissertation workshops. In-person events take place the Wednesday before the Annual Meeting, while virtual workshops occur over a three-week period in the summer. Each workshop includes presentations from six PhD candidates and is led by two faculty members who facilitate discussions. Apply by May 19, 2024, for a chance to participate in this exciting research opportunity.
Join us for an unparalleled opportunity to gain insights into the application of mixed methods in political economy research!
