Holiday World, the largest amusement park in Indiana, is kicking off the spring by unveiling its Thanksgiving-themed area. The new ride called “Good Gravy!” has already garnered a lot of excitement and interest from visitors since its announcement. According to Leah Koch-Blumhardt, owner of Holiday World, the ride is expected to be a major draw this season.
The “Good Gravy!” ride is an oversized interpretation of Thanksgiving dinner, where riders sit in gravy boat trains and speed out of grandma’s house, pass through a giant can of cranberry sauce, and go past a towering milk jug. This coaster offers a family-friendly experience that combines both forward and backward rides using the same tracks.
While some boomerang coasters in other parks offer extreme twists, turns, and loops for advanced riders, “Good Gravy!” is a relatively tame ride with a minimum height requirement of 38 inches. It’s located in the Thanksgiving-themed area alongside other attractions such as “Turkey Whirl” and “Gobblers Getaway.”
To help raise money for the North Spencer Community Action Center, Holiday World recently auctioned off the first rides on “Good Gravy!” The first rides took place on May 3 with exclusive access for Platinum and Season Pass members on May 4 and 5. The park opened to all visitors on Saturday with single-day passes starting at $39.99. Splashin’ Safari also opened that weekend with increased prices. Both parks are operating on a cashless system, and Holiday World is scheduled to close in October.
With its unique blend of fun family attractions and exciting new rides like “Good Gravy!”, Holiday World continues to be one of the most popular destinations for thrill-seekers throughout the year.
