CSI inaugurates new Transportation Technology Center

The new Transportation Technology Center at the College of Southern Idaho is set to open in October 2025, and will be approximately 28,000 square feet. This center will house the college’s Heavy Equipment Ag Technology and Diesel Technology programs, and will also support industry training and expand a dual credit collaboration with the Twin Falls School District. The project is being funded by the Idaho Department of Public Works and CSI, with a total budget of $15 million. Starr Corporation will serve as the construction manager for the project.

The groundbreaking ceremony for this exciting new facility was attended by personnel from the college, government leaders, and members of the Twin Falls community. Tiffany Seeley-Case, Dean of General and Transfer Education at CSI, spoke about how the center will be a hub for excellence in education and workforce development. She emphasized that this specialized training is essential to prepare individuals for the demands of the modern transportation and agricultural industry.

Idaho Lt. Governor Scott Bedke highlighted the importance of well-trained employees in these industries, with job openings for 600 graduates in Idaho alone. He stressed that facilities like this new Transportation Technology Center are crucial to meeting this demand for skilled workers.
