Nicklaus Children’s Health System is committed to providing the best possible care for their patients, and they have partnered with Philips to enhance their cardiac care. The systems that have been implemented include the Philips EPIQ CVx and Compact 5500CV AI-enabled ultrasound systems. These systems automate measurements and strain quantification, reducing quantification time by 51% and helping sonographers reduce exam time for 2D imaging by 20%.
The TrueVue imaging technology has also been implemented to aid in interpreting structural heart disease progression and improving communication between echocardiographers and interventionalists. This technology provides crucial clinical information, increases diagnostic confidence, and ultimately improves procedure guidance and patient outcomes.
Matthew A. Love, president, and CEO of Nicklaus Children’s Health System stated that Philips shares their commitment to innovation and patient safety at Nicklaus Children’s. He emphasized the importance of recognizing that pediatric radiology solutions cannot simply be smaller versions of adult solutions. Love highlighted the significance of making medical procedures fun and instilling confidence in children to alleviate stress for both the child and their family. He also praised Jeff DiLullo, Chief Region Leader for Philips North America, for his collaborative effort to create a healthy future for every child at Nicklaus Children’s. DiLullo emphasized the importance of time for families and staff when developing these systems, stating that it is focused on improving the patient experience. He also mentioned Nicklaus Children’s status as one of the top pediatric health systems with high survival rates in the nation.
