The Switch 2 announcement from Nintendo is expected before April 2025

Nintendo has recently announced that they will be unveiling their new game console, the successor to the Nintendo Switch, sometime during this fiscal year. This news comes alongside a new Nintendo Direct event set for June, where they will discuss the games coming to the current hardware in the second half of 2024.

The original Nintendo Switch was introduced in 2015 and released two years later, with subsequent updates including models with longer battery life and an OLED screen. The introduction of the portable-only Switch Lite added variety to the lineup.

President of Nintendo, Shuntaro Furukawa, confirmed that the new console will be announced before the end of the fiscal year which extends until March 2025. Furukawa emphasized that this new console will be revealed no later than March of next year, marking over nine years since the original Switch was announced. This is an exciting development for gamers who have been eagerly waiting for news about Nintendo’s next big move in gaming technology.
