Guiding Ho Chi Minh City to Achieve Top 5 Ranking in AI

Nvidia has expressed its support for Ho Chi Minh City to become a leading artificial intelligence (AI) technology center, with a focus on training human resources in the industry. This initiative aims to propel the city towards becoming one of the top 5 cities in AI globally. The discussion took place during a meeting between Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Chairman Phan Van Mai and Nvidia Vice President Keith Strier on April 26.

Nvidia recognizes the potential for collaboration with Ho Chi Minh City in developing AI technology in the near future. The company is keen on working towards the advancement of AI technology and human resources training in the city, emphasizing on cooperation in development rather than business focus. Mr. Strier highlighted the importance of modernizing the city’s IT infrastructure, including cloud computing and data centers, as well as enhancing human resource skills and business capacity to keep pace with AI development.

As part of the collaboration, Nvidia Vice President Keith Strier pledged to work with Ho Chi Minh City to organize AI human resource training programs for university lecturers and students, as well as to enhance AI technology expertise for local businesses. He stressed the significance of leadership determination and vision in AI development, stating that Vietnam has the potential to excel in the field of AI. The aim is for Ho Chi Minh City to emerge as a global leader in AI technology, a goal that both parties are committed to achieving.

Moving forward, Ho Chi Minh City leaders and Nvidia will establish a joint working group to strategize and advise on priority areas in AI development, including investments in computing infrastructure and the development of AI industrial parks. The city’s budget and public-private partnership policy will play key roles in deploying these infrastructures, with the goal of positioning Ho Chi Minh City as a hub for AI research and development in various sectors such as administration, health, education, and urban management.
