Raegan Beers, Ex-Oregon State standout, set to transfer to Oklahoma

Oklahoma Sooners have announced the transfer of former Oregon State standout Raegan Beers. Beers, a junior forward, made the decision to leave her alma mater after two years of playing for the Beavers.

During her time at Oregon State, Beers excelled on the court, averaging 17.5 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game while shooting an impressive 66.4 percent from the field. She received several accolades for her performance, including Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and Sixth Person of the Year honors in her sophomore year.

Beers was also named to the conference’s All-Freshman team and recognized as a third-team All-American by the Associated Press in her sophomore year. However, with Oregon State’s move to the WCC in a two-year affiliate membership, Beers decided to transfer to Oklahoma.

In a statement posted online, Beers expressed her excitement for joining Oklahoma’s talented roster led by head coach Jennie Baranczyk. She emphasized the importance of hard work and love for competition qualities she sees reflected in Oklahoma’s program. With two seasons of eligibility remaining, Beers is poised to make a significant impact for the Sooners as they navigate their new challenges in playing against top-tier competition in their new conference.

Beers will join standout players like Skylar Vann, Payton Verhulst, and Sahara Williams on Oklahoma’s roster as they compete in highly competitive SEC play.

Oklahoma has been successful in recent years with consecutive Big 12 titles and three straight NCAA tournament appearances under Coach Baranczyk’s leadership.

The addition of Beers will help Oklahoma maintain its dominance on the court as she brings valuable experience and skills to their already talented squad.

Overall, this move is an excellent opportunity for both parties involved as it allows OSU to free up eligibility for other players while allowing Beers to take advantage of OU’s successes under Coach Baranczyk’s leadership and compete against top-tier competition in SEC play.
