Call2Recycle Canada has joined forces with Electronic Distributors International Inc (EDI) to introduce a new battery sorting technology that will significantly boost Ontario, Canada’s capacity to sort and recycle end-of-life batteries. This investment is in line with the company’s goal of enhancing battery recycling infrastructure, improving efficiency, ensuring safety, and promoting waste diversion initiatives in the region. The cutting-edge battery sorting equipment is located at EDI’s facility in Orillia, Ontario, and is one of only four of its kind globally. This new technology will double the plant’s capability to sort used batteries effectively.
The partnership between Call2Recycle Canada and EDI signifies a significant milestone in advancing sustainable battery recycling practices in Ontario and setting a precedent for innovative waste management solutions across North America. “We are committed to modernizing the recycling industry and investing in sustainable solutions that meet the evolving needs of our partners,” said Norm Yorke, Managing Partner at EDI.
