The University of Jamestown baseball team had a standout season this year, with eight players receiving GPAC All-Conference awards. The first team included Alex Alva, Avery Liestman, and Ethan Petty, while the second team featured Chase Burke, Cade Torgerson, and Jordan Singleton. Torgerson was not only named an All-Conference gold glover but also had an impressive record of 7-3 in 16 appearances with a 2.91 ERA and 82 strikeouts.
Torgerson’s excellent fielding percentage was matched only by his batting prowess, as he hit .350 with nine home runs and 41 RBIs. Burke had a batting average of .323 with four home runs, three triples, and 26 RBIs along with 27 stolen bases. Singleton hit .333 with eight home runs and 38 RBIs, while Nelson contributed with a .325 batting average, eight doubles, and 25 RBIs.
Radkey went 4-1 with a 3.86 ERA in his impressive performance on the mound this season. Zimmer had a solid record of 5-3 with a 4.09 ERA and was also recognized for his contributions at the plate with ten home runs and two doubles. Brown excelled both at the plate and on the mound this season, hitting .298 with ten home runs and two doubles while also pitching in six games with a solid ERA of 4.12.
Overall, each player played crucial roles in the team’s success this season, making significant contributions to their outstanding performance on the field.
