The NASCAR race weekend at Dover Motor Speedway is in full swing with a packed day of on-track action on Saturday. The Cup Series teams will practice and qualify for Sunday’s race, which is set to take place at 2 p.m. ET on FS1. Last season, Kyle Busch started from the pole after rain washed out qualifying, and Christopher Bell joined him on the front row.
The Xfinity Series is also set to race on Saturday, with defending winner Ryan Truex back in the lineup driving for Joe Gibbs Racing. With four drivers already secure spots in the Xfinity playoffs – Austin Hill, Chandler Smith, Sam Mayer, and Jesse Love – this could be the perfect opportunity for Martin Truex Jr. and his Joe Gibbs Racing teammates to break their recent top-10 drought.
Riley Herbst expressed confusion about his positioning during a green-white-checkered finish at Dover Motor Speedway, saying “I just don’t understand. Am I not allowed to pass people on a green-white-checkered?” With cloudy skies and a high of 57 degrees expected throughout the day, there is a 2% chance of rain at the start of the Xfinity race. The garage opens at 8:30 a.m., with track activity scheduled throughout the day culminating in the Xfinity Series race at 1:30 p.m. (All times Eastern).
