U.S. basketball team in final stages of selecting roster for 2024 Paris Olympics

As the 2024 Paris Olympics men’s basketball tournament approaches, Team USA is finalizing its roster. The squad, led by managing director Grant Hill, features some of the biggest names in the sport including LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, and Joel Embiid.

After a July training camp in Las Vegas, Hill left one roster spot open for a player to be added. The 11-man roster already includes Anthony Davis, Devin Booker, Anthony Edwards, Jayson Tatum Jr., Jrue Holiday, Bam Adebayo and Tyrese Haliburton.

Steve Kerr will be coaching Curry and Durant who has won three men’s basketball Olympic gold medals tying him with Carmelo Anthony. LeBron James is playing in his fourth Olympics and has previously won a bronze medal in 2004 and gold medals in 2008 and 2012. Haliburton and Edwards are the only players from the 2023 FIBA World Cup team who have been selected for the Olympics showcasing the team’s mix of experience and upcoming talent.
