NBC Chicago is seeking a suspect in child sex abuse case at the Museum of Science and Industry

A 10-year-old girl was sexually assaulted at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago on Thursday, authorities said. The incident took place on the museum’s second floor, where the girl was taken after becoming separated from her group.

The suspect approached the child and offered to help her find her way back to her group. However, when they were alone in a restroom, the suspect crawled under the stall door and touched the girl inappropriately. The child reacted by kicking towards the suspect, who then fled from the restroom.

The suspect is described as a man between the ages of 30 to 40, weighing 160 to 180 pounds, with a height between 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet 3 inches. He has curly, light brown hair, a beard, and a tattoo of a roaring lion on his neck.

Anyone with information on the incident is urged to contact the Bureau of Detectives Special Investigations Unit at 312-492-3810. The community alert issued on Saturday stated that anyone who sees or recognizes the suspect should immediately call authorities.
