The Prosecutor General’s Office has submitted several applications for the confiscation of illegal properties. Prosecutor Anna Vardapetyan presented three such applications in parliament today, which include demands for the return of 25 units of real estate and over 35 billion drams from ex-president Robert Kocharyan and seven associates.
In addition to these demands, the prosecutor’s office is seeking the confiscation of 5 means of transport, participation in 16 Armenian and foreign legal entities, over 4 million dollars in deposit securities, and the right to request loans equivalent to about 10 billion drams from Kocharyan and his associates.
For Gagik Khachatryan and related persons, the prosecutor is requesting the confiscation of around 200 units of real estate in favor of Armenia. This includes 56 properties located in the center of Yerevan. Khachatryan is also required to surrender 13 means of transport, participation in 29 legal entities, over 1.4 million dollars in deposits and securities, the right to demand loans equivalent to more than 23 million dollars, and over 23 billion drams.
The leader of “Prosperous Armenia” party Gagik Tsarukyan and his associates are being asked to forfeit around 79 real estates, 42 vehicles and acquisition value of unidentified vehicles amounting to around $349 million drams in favor of Armenia. The confiscation demands also include market value of ten real estate properties, shares in thirty nine legal entities, right to claim loans equivalent to over $63.3 billion drams ,and amount borrowed by twelve individuals and legal entities totaling more than $16.8 billion drms .
In summary, the Prosecutor General’s Office is pursuing confiscation orders totaling around $86 billion or about one billion dollars equivalent in various assets from these individuals and their associates.
