Get to Know the Hockey Nominees for the Detroit High School Sports Awards

The Detroit High School Sports Awards, presented by Detroit Area Honda Dealers, is excited to announce the nominees for the Hockey Player of the Year. This program is part of a nine-month student-athlete recognition initiative that will culminate in a red-carpet event this spring, honoring athletes, coaches, and teams from the greater Detroit region participating in sanctioned Michigan High School Athletic Association sports.

The live show on June 18 at The Fillmore Detroit, in partnership with the U.S. Army, will feature nominees for all 29 sports, including hockey player of the year. Special awards will also be presented for exceptional on- and off-the-field achievements, such as the Courage Award, Coaches of the Year, Teams of the Year, and Boys and Girls Athlete of the Year.

Nominated athletes who confirm their attendance will receive complimentary tickets to the event thanks to sponsors. Guests of nominees can purchase tickets online.

The nominees for Hockey Player of the Year include Will Barrett from Trenton High School, Joe Curtin from Novi Detroit Catholic Central High School, Garrett Dudlar from Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook-Kingswood School, Cam Duffany from Brighton High School, Nolan Galda from Novi Detroit Catholic Central High School
