Amazon’s Prime Video is set to premiere Betty la Fea, the Story Continues, a sequel to the Colombian telenovela that inspired ABC’s Ugly Betty. The new series will follow Beatriz Pinzón Solano 20 years after the original show, as Betty navigates rebuilding her relationship with her daughter Mila and confronts challenges in her relationship with Armando.
Joining the cast for Betty la Fea, the Story Continues are Rodrigo Candamil, Juanita Molin, Zharick León, and Sebastián Osorio. Ana María Orozco will also reprise her role as Betty, alongside Jorge Enrique Abello and other returning cast members such as Julián Arango and Natalia Ramírez.
Produced by RCN Estudios for Prime Video, this series promises to be a must-watch for fans of the original telenovela. After its success in 180 countries and being dubbed into 15 languages, Yo soy Betty, la Fea has been adapted in 28 territories including India, South Africa and the U.S. Telemundo produced their own version in 2019 titled Betty in NY.
