Blessing Health welcomes community to discover cutting-edge robotic-assisted technology at open house

Blessing Health in Quincy has recently introduced the Velys Robotic-Assisted Technology to improve outcomes for patients undergoing knee replacement surgery. During an open house event, doctors demonstrated how the robot works alongside surgeons’ hands to enhance precision in alignments, balance and cuts. This technology not only reduces recovery time but also allows patients to go home on the same day of the procedure.

Surgeons at Blessing Health Center have reported that using Velys can shorten surgery time by approximately two hours. Dr. Darr Leutz from Blessing Orthopedics and Sports Medicine explained that the robot helps balance and align the knee perfectly, leading to quicker recovery for patients. Many patients have shown significant progress within two weeks post-surgery, some even without the need for a cane and with full motion already restored.

Since its introduction in July of the previous year, Blessing Health has successfully completed over 125 knee replacement surgeries using the Velys Robotic-Assisted Technology. This cutting-edge technology has marked a significant advancement in knee replacement procedures at the hospital, offering patients a more efficient and effective treatment option.
