Ronald Acuna Jr. of the Atlanta Braves to join Rimas Sports as a signee

According to reports, Ronald Acuna Jr. of the Braves is likely to sign with Rimas Sports for marketing and off-field business, but not as his agent. However, the agency, led by Bad Bunny, is facing disciplinary actions from the MLBPA. The agency’s agent William Arroyo had his license revoked, and two other employees pending certification will not receive their licenses. This leaves Rimas with just one certified agent, Michael Velazquez, raising concerns about the agency’s long-term viability in baseball.

When asked about his representation, Acuna said that he had not signed with Rimas yet but indicated that it was likely to occur. It is believed that Acuna is not signing with Rimas to be his agent but rather to handle his marketing and off-field business. The exact reason for Rimas’ disciplinary action from the MLBPA is unknown.

Acuna previously worked with Xample for his marketing and branding but they are not listed as his agent at the MLBPA. His previous representation was Peter E. Greenberg and Associates who negotiated his contract extension before being acquired by Rep 1 Baseball in February 2020.
