Netflix secures new live-action Scooby-Doo series deal

Netflix has secured the rights to a live-action Scooby-Doo series titled “Scooby-Doo! The Live-Action Series.” This project was in high demand among multiple streaming platforms, and Netflix ultimately won it with a commitment to high-budget production. The series will be produced by Greg Berlanti in collaboration with Warner Bros. Television, while the scripts will be written by Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg based on the Hanna-Barbera characters.

The upcoming Netflix series is a modern take on the classic cartoon that first debuted in 1969. It will follow the adventures of Fred Jones, Daphne Blake, Velma Dinkley, Shaggy Rogers, and the talking Great Dane, Scooby-Doo, as they solve supernatural mysteries. This deal follows the success of another Berlanti Prods./WBTV series on Netflix called Dead Boy Detectives, which quickly climbed the ranks and became one of the most-watched series in the US shortly after its release.

Fans of Scooby-Doo can look forward to a high-quality production that stays true to the spirit of the original cartoon while introducing new elements to captivate audiences of all ages. With a talented team behind it and the support of a major streaming platform like Netflix, “Scooby-Doo! The Live-Action Series” promises to be an exciting and engaging addition to the beloved franchise.
