Singapore’s Mercure ICON: Worldwide Hotels’ Flagship Property and a Haven for Local Explorers

In the heart of Singapore’s financial district, the Mercure ICON stands tall as the largest Mercure hotel in the world. This development is a testament to Worldwide Hotels, founded by Singaporean billionaire Choo Chong Ngen, and situated along Club Street in the central business district. With 989 rooms, this new hotel is poised to become the flagship property for the group.

Managed by Accor’s midscale brand Mercure, the Mercure ICON offers an unforgettable experience for travelers looking to explore Singapore like a local. The CEO and managing director of Worldwide Hotels, Carolyn Choo, emphasized the hotel’s proximity to various cultural attractions, cafes, restaurants, and bars that make it an ideal place for guests to immerse themselves in the city’s vibrant lifestyle.

Worldwide Hotels has recently opened two other properties in Singapore, totaling S$1.6 billion in investment. With more than 8,600 rooms across its properties in Singapore, the group has established itself as one of the city-state’s largest hotel groups alongside other prominent names in the hospitality industry.

In recent years, Worldwide Hotels has expanded its presence internationally with acquisitions of hotels in various countries such as Thailand
